Hypromellose (Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose) is solid with an appearance of off-white to beige powder, which can be made into granules. When dissolved in water, the compound forms a colloid. This non-toxic component is flammable and can react violently with oxidants. Hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) in aqueous solution, such as methylcellulose, has thermal gelling properties.


Hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) has many applications, including:

Hypromellose (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose) is a non-perishable product. We recommend that you rotate products on a first-in-first-out basis. The product should be stored in the original packaging, dry and clean, away from heat sources. The product is hygroscopic. Although the choice is made in a way to prevent the ingress of packaged moisture, the moisture content of the packaged product will increase if it is not stored dry.
